So What are YOU going to do NOW?

Take a look at the above photo. What is your first impression of this cactus? I guess many of you will say it is brightly coloured, beautiful, prickly, lonely, unfriendly or strong. These are the common characteristics of a cactus. Cactus grows in dry areas and because of its environment, it does not have gorgeous flowers to beautify its look. What it has is only pricks covering itself to help itself to restore water in its body so that it can survive in the dry areas. So if you look at cactus alone, it looks good in its own way without any comparison to other plants and flowers. But not many people will been keen to buy cactus to beautify their homes because of their prickly body. Thus this gives people impression that it is strong but unfriendly and lonesome.

Now take a look at the below photo. Now what is your first impression? I guess many of you will go 'wow' and say it is an amazing and impressive sight to view. Alone, by itself, a cactus is nothing interesting. But if you put together a whole colony of same family of cactus, it will actually make people to stop by and take a look at them and take lots of photos of them.

And if you put together a whole colony of different family of cactus, it is not only become a sight but scenery, a form of art to look at that make people actually talk and discuss about the cactus - how colorful it is, how it is being grown, how many variety are there, etc.

So how are all these cactus related to the title of this blog?

This actually implies TEAMWORK. Teamwork in the family, school, company, organization, etc.

Alone by yourself, you are an unique individual in this world. You have your own strengths and weaknesses that are viewed by others. Just like a cactus by itself looks nice and beautiful but prickly, lonely and strong. By yourself, you may not be able to achieve much as you have your own capabilities and limitations.

When you cooperate with your teammates regardless of the type of organizations you are in, then you find it easier to achieve your common goals. The whole colony of same family of cactus is just like the staff working in the same department. The staff will have common goal to achieve working in that department. If they work together without too much focus on self interest, then they can accomplish much more and faster in achieving the department's goals.

The whole colony of different family of cactus together is just like the staff working in different departments in the company. By achieving their departments' goals and cooperating with one another, they will achieve their company's goals very fast and efficiently and at the end of the day, you yourself will get to benefit too.

So what are YOU going to do NOW? Do you still want to be the lone ranger who may not even achieve your own goals by yourself? or do you want to work with your teammates to achieve department and company's goals and ultimately, you yourself gain too? The answer lies in your heart. Always understand that "No Man is an Island".

I took all these photos at the recent Singapore Garden Festival where you get to see lots of garden landscaping, plants, flowers and not forgetting orchids, since Singapore is famous for their orchids. Below are some of other photos I took for you to enjoy.
