48 hours of time

Everybody is running with time. Seconds gone, minutes gone, hours gone, days gone, months gone, years gone ... Time simply just won't stop for us.

The pace of living is getting faster and faster. Everyone is working 8 hours a day officially, but unofficially, everyone is working late. One hour become two hours, two hours become three hours. Basically everyone is working more than 8 hours a day, or our working place becomes the home for us where we spend most of our time.

Is this situation unavoidable in a country who keeps growing?

Can we really balance both our working life and personal life?

Do we really need to sacrifice our personal life for our work?

Is this really worth it?

Why our bosses go home earlier than us? Why are we the ones who always stay back to clear our work?

Is our bosses smarter than us? Or just that they know how to delegate the tasks to their staff?

No matter where you work, this is a situation where it is unavoidable and is common.

When you go for interview, the interviewer will definitely ask you, "Are you prepared to work late?" or they will just tell you straight in the face that the job is demanding and requires commitment.

Does working late means that you are committed?

Working late implies working experiences? Is this what experience is all about?

No matter what, all of us only have 24 hours a day. No matter how committed we are in our job, we only have 24 hours a day. One hour of working late means one hour lesser for your personal life.

So career is more important? Or personal life is more important?

time is the ONLY resources that is too LIMITED!

Don't waste your TIME!

time is RUNNING OUT!

The Only Certainty is Uncertainty

Last week, I am being bombarded with two shocking news that are related to the company that I am working in. Due to the sensitivity of the issue on hand, I shall not mention what is the news about. But these news made me realised that changes are the only constant in this business world and business world is so practical and realistic that we are only keen in dollars and cents and when one cannot work, we have no choice but let it go. This explains the term "Only the strongest will survive" very well.

With these changes in hand, nobody will know whether it is a better move or not. Only time can tell the answer. We can only hope for the best.

2008 seems to be a gloomy year for us. Economy is not so good. Every day we are bombarded with negative news. Stocks prices are dropping like crazy. Cost of living is getting higher but pay increment is very little.

"When the going gets tough, the tough gets going".

Hopefully we would get stronger when we are facing tough environment, tough situation, demanding boss, etc.

This reminds me of a channel 5 show that i have been watching. It is "Hell Kitchen" on every Friday at 12am.

This is a competition where contestants will compete with each other in cooking. The winner will get to work in a very high class billions worth restaurant and become a chef. There are two competitions in every episode - one is for individual and one is for group. For group, you actually work in the restaurant and cooked for patrons in real setting. The kitchen is a open concept where patrons can see the chefs in action.

What is so shocking about this show is that the chef who is testing the contestants. He is a very demanding and bad tempered chef. When the contestants make any mistake, he will just scream and scold the contestants in front of the patrons. When the food they prepare are not up to standard, he will just throw away the food and ask the contestants to prepare again. When the patrons wait for too long and start complaining to the chef, the chef will keep pushing the contestants to be faster and faster and this adds more stress to the contestants. When a few contestants fail to meet his standards and make him fuming mad, he will just stop the whole kitchen operations and stop serving the patrons.

He is just like a boss from "hell".

Maybe we should have such bosses too, so that we can "wake up" from our sleep and become a better and smarter employee instead.

Hmmm ... Maybe ... Hehe

So remember to watch the show, Hell's Kitchen on channel 5 at 11pm!

You will feel very blessed that your boss is not like that!

Attached is some of the highlights from Hell's Kitchen.

The Next Internet Millionaire

Recently, there is a new Internet reality show - The Next Internet Millionaire.

In this reality show, there is a group of 12 contestants fighting to win the competition. The winner of the competition will get to have $25,000 and an opportunity to become JV partner with Joel Comm. Joel Comm is one of the successful internet entreprenuers and a lot of his products and websites generate millions of income for him.

In this reality show, different well known speakers from the Internet arena would teach the contestants different aspects of internet marketing and how to excel from it. From there, they would break up into groups and brainstorm for ideas for the project of the day. As usual, the losing team would go to the boardroom and one of the contestants would be fired.

Till the end of the game where only two contestants are left, they would set up their own website and sell their own products. The contestant who can bring in the most sales would win the competition.

What is good about this game is that it would give you a better understanding on what internet marketing is about. From the projects that the teams did, you would learn what to avoid and what is encouraged when you have your own online business.

So if you are interested in doing your online business or you are already running your online business and want to make it a better one, remember to check this out!
